We brought my husband for prostate cancer treatment after several consultations at home. Probably the hardest part by then was that every doctor said something slightly different. So at the first appointment I told the doctor straight away that we did not just want to hear one more recommendation, we wanted to understand the reasoning.

He really sat down and went through everything: the MRI, the biopsy, the blood tests. He explained why he considered surgery the better option in our case, and also walked us through the alternatives. My husband asked a lot of questions, sometimes the same ones twice, and the doctor never once showed any irritation.

An additional examination was needed before the operation, so the date was moved a little. I was more nervous about it than my husband.

The operation itself went well, and so did the recovery. After the histology results the doctor talked to us again and explained what to do next and how often check-ups are needed now.

What stayed with me most was the attitude. No showy care, nobody fussing around you, but whenever you need a doctor or have a question, it gets sorted out. That turned out to be a very comfortable format for us.

I wrote to Livaroq when I had about twenty browser tabs open with clinics and doctors and had completely stopped understanding whom to choose.

We sent my husband's documents. After a while we were offered several specialists, and then consultations with two doctors were arranged. That was the right approach: after those conversations we made the decision ourselves, without feeling that we had been steered anywhere.

After that I almost stopped dealing with the trip arrangements. Livaroq coordinated the clinic, the invoice, the dates, the hotel and the transfer. When the admission was postponed by a few days, I messaged the coordinator in the evening. By the next day all our bookings had already been changed.

I think that was when I appreciated their work most. My husband's illness was already taking up all my thoughts, and I had no wish to figure out airline change rules or write to a foreign clinic's accounts department at the same time.

After the operation we contacted our coordinator a few more times and always got quick answers.

I would put it this way: Livaroq did not try to create a sense of "premium service" around us, and thank goodness. Everything that needed to be organised simply was organised. For me that is worth much more.

I had a hip replacement here.

I chose the surgeon deliberately: we had spoken online beforehand. I had also had several consultations elsewhere, so I already had some idea of what the operation would involve.

What I liked: the doctor did not promise miracles and described the first weeks after surgery quite accurately. In practice that is roughly how it went.

The hospital stay was well organised, with no long waits between examinations. The operation went without complications, and rehabilitation started quickly.

Some time after discharge I sent the doctor a follow-up X-ray and received recommendations on increasing the load.

I do not like writing glowing reviews, so I will put it simply: if I had to choose a surgeon for this operation again, I would consider this doctor again.

At first I was not at all sure I needed an intermediary.

I live in Europe, I speak English, and I can book a flight and a hotel myself. So I told Livaroq straight away that what I needed above all was a proper choice of surgeon, not travel assistance.

I was offered several specialists and three consultations were arranged. That is the part of the service I am happy to pay for, no questions asked. You cannot gather that kind of information in an evening online, and talking to several surgeons before deciding was genuinely useful.

Once I had chosen the doctor, I decided to leave the trip arrangements to them as well. In the end they coordinated the clinic, the dates, the accommodation and the rehabilitation centre. I could have done all that myself, but I no longer saw the point.

I would also note the sensible communication: no twenty messages a day and no constant "how are you feeling?". When I had a question, I wrote and got an answer.

For me that is what good service looks like.

I was a little scared to travel for the procedure, even though by then I had read quite a lot about ablation and talked to doctors.

Perhaps that is why I remember my first meeting with the arrhythmologist so well. He did not start with the procedure. First he asked in detail about the episodes, looked at my test results, and then explained why previous doctors might have given me different recommendations.

That mattered to me. Before, I saw it this way: one doctor says take medication, another says have an ablation, so one of them must be wrong. Here it was explained to me that things are not so black and white.

After additional tests we decided to go ahead with the ablation.

Everything at the clinic went very calmly. I was told in advance what would happen next, so there was hardly any sense of the unknown. After the procedure the doctor went over the medication and the restrictions for the first weeks once more.

Later, at home, I had an odd pulse a few times after exercise and was quite worried about it. I sent the data to the doctor, we talked online again, and after that I felt much calmer.

All in all, I was left with the feeling that I was looked after not only on the day of the procedure. That is very important to me.

I did not find Livaroq because I was looking for treatment "abroad at any cost". Healthcare in Dubai is good. I simply wanted another independent opinion before deciding on a procedure.

First we had two online consultations with arrhythmologists. Only after that did I choose the doctor and the clinic.

Then came what I value most in a good service: the organisational side almost stopped being my concern.

I was travelling with my sister. Our flights, hotel, transfers, examinations and admission all had to fit together. I received a schedule and the coordinator's contact. That was it.

Once the time of an examination changed. I was sent the new time and told in the same message that the car had already been rescheduled. Those are the things I notice.

I do not like it when a service is too intrusive and keeps reminding you how well you are being looked after. That did not happen here.

But when I needed to contact the doctor again after returning home, I wrote to the same coordinator and the matter was resolved.

For me Livaroq turned out to be exactly what a medical concierge should be: you hardly notice it while everything goes to plan, but as soon as a problem comes up, there is someone to hand it to.
